Derbyshire Walks # 1 - Earl Sterndale to the top of Parkhouse hill

Parkhouse Hill My first walk I'm going to write about is a walk from the hamlet of Earl Sterndale up to the summit of nearby Parkhouse Hill. This walk is a distance of just under 2 miles and involves steep and some scrambling up slippery slopes. Earl Sterndale Earl Sterndale is located just over 4 miles south of Buxton, turning off the A515 at the High Peak bookstore and heading along the B5053 until you see signs for Earl Sterndale.  Parking is rather limited in the village and I managed to find a space next to the pretty little Church of Michael and all the Angels.  The grey coloured stone giving an indication to this area being made up of Limestone that gives the White Peak its name.
